Brightfields is currently working with one of the mining industry's leading companies, KGHM Polska Miedz, to develop a 10 MW solar array on a closing open pit copper mine. Located in Central Arizona, this innovative project will be the first of its kind, a large-scale solar farm located on USFS land. Using single-axis tracking technology, the project will be able to produce over 25 million Kwh/year of clean, renewable energy. The array will be an exemplary repurposing of the land and will utilize existing electrical infrastructure. This project is fully permitted and in the final stages of development.
