Brightfields Development is working with the Overlook Ridge team to bring community solar to Little Falls, NY. The Overlook Ridge Development will combine the world class Overlook Ridge Leadership Development Institute with modern suburban living in the majestic Mohawk Valley. Designed as a sustainable community and asset for the people of Little Falls, Overlook Ridge will host a third party owned community solar garden. The shared solar garden will make solar accessible to the surrounding community by allowing local residents and businesses to receive electricity from the centrally located shared solar array, without installing panels on their property.
Once completed, the Overlook Ridge Community Solar Garden will enable Little Falls residents to save money on their utility bills while supporting clean, local electricity. The 2 MW Overlook Ridge Community Solar Garden is expected to commence operation in early 2017 and provide enough clean energy for 300-400 households.
